2 friggin coffee cups. ugh.
After a horrible accident claims the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever Bloom can see people's auras, hear their thoughts, and know someone's entire life story by touching them. Going out of her way to avoid human contact to suppress her abilities, she has been branded a freak at her new high school — but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste.
Damen is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy. He's the only one who can silence the noise and random energy in her head - wielding a magic so intense, it's as though he can peer straight into her soul. As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she's left with more questions than answers. And she has no idea just who he really is - or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is that she's falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.

My Review
Oh okay, I decided to buy this book because of the thought that hey this might be cool because she read minds and all that crap buuuuuut... aaaww.. here are the things..
Ever’s inconsistency was really pointed out. Like seriously, her actions were clashing.
One time, she wanted her sister to stay and Damen go, and then the other time
it was vice versa and then went back again to square one. It was like running
in circles and stuff. This character was so confusing. Talk about a 16 year old
who drank alcohol and made up. I mean, are we really going to teach young readers these things?
I've read a lot of reviews about Evermore before deciding to give it a go. I am
surprised that people said that it was a Twilight rip off. Although, I admit
there are some things that are similar to it but still completely different.
So, I decided to write a list of the things I might consider Twilight-y.
♥ Bella was
a new kid and so was Damen.
- Was that
even counted? LOL at least it was Damen who was new. It’s hardly noticed.
♥ Damen
was gorgeous, Edward was too but hey Edward was adored almost by everyone,
ditches classes whenever the sun was up or when he needs to be fed but Damen
ditches school like every single moment. A coincidence? I think not!
- That’s
one more thing I’m concerned about young teens reading this book. It is not
right to ditch school. It can be fun but just for a moment of it then you’ll
realize how big crap you’re missing. I don’t even want ditching school being
part of this ripping thingie but well, there goes my whining.
♥ Tingles.
- OMG. Did
I really include that? Ever got tingles when she touched Damen, just like
little ol’ Bella to Edward.
♥ Sharing
a single subject just like Edward and Bella and a slight hint on how Damen’s
clothing was a bit odd. Odd as in classier just like Edward but still suited
him.
♥ Mind
reading. Edward read thoughts, Damen too.
- Ever can
read thoughts too but Bella had the ability to block Edward from invading her
mind. I still say it was a rip off but a whole lot better in this part.
♥ Immortality:
Never dying, never eating, gets sick, super strength, unbelievably fast.
RIP FUCKING OFF!
The sub
stories are vague to me or did I not keep much attention? I admit, when a book
is very interesting, I don’t sleep--at all. It took me 8 freaking days to finish
this book and it kinda sucks because it made me feel bored a lot of times. But
hey, I deserve an applause as I managed to read it up to the end.
I mean really really boring.
I have
noted some of my issues though.
Well for one, Noel shouldn't have written anything about Orlando Blooms since he got Ever’s last
name from him. I can’t imagine Orlando being Ever’s dad or worst being his
girlfriend. LOL so please next time don’t overdo it.
If you say so.
Two, letting
go and embracing what you really feel. Ever
wanted to let go, but instead he let go of Damen—and not Riley. I mean come on!
She almost went all the way with Damen. Her sister is dead and for crying out
loud why can even a ghost read thoughts too? That was so frustrating!
Three, I didn't feel all giddy. Not even close compared to Twilight. (What?! Just saying!)
Four. Who ever
thought that invading ones privacy just because you’re in love with that person
seriously needs some help! That’s not love that’s freaking stalking and it’s
creepy and not over dreamy! Hear me out, I’m totally scared of stalking
bastards.
Five. ALCOHOL+FREAK=NORMAL? I can't even do the math! Please. Einstein must be very very mad!
What’s
with the thinking about how you feel and not verbalizing it? He can read your
mind, Ever. He wanted to hear it, talking and thinking for you made no difference whenever he was beside you. Can’t you see that? (I LOST IT!)
Good. I made myself clear, but you Alyson Noel put an end to it right after she said it.“I love you," I whisper."And I love you." He smiles, his lips seeking mine. "Always have. Always will.”
I am hoping that Bluemoon is not NEWMOON! LOL I give this book two stars since it didn't made me giddy in any way possible. Just for the sake of being interested if it was really a rip off though.
Conclusion:
I therefore conclude that it was a rip off but completely different since it involves magic and psychics.
A bad review is tough to write. I have been editing one since before I left for work, and I am still not done. I love the graphics, the memes or whatever they are called. They really add so much to your reviews. Love it!
